One Life

In collaboration with Lipsync Post under the VFX Supervision of David Fowler, we took on the challenge of designing and building a virtual recreation of pre-War Liverpool Street Station, adding period detail to flashback scenes in “One Life” starring Anthony Hopkins, Helena Bonham Carter and Johnny Flynn.

Live Action filming had already been completed when we joined the production, and challenges included balancing historical accuracy with dramatic licence - the need to tell a story with the environment while staying true to the essence of the architecture.

Liverpool Street Station and the area around it has changed radically in the decades since World War II, so great care was taken to research the view that would have been seen from the open platform. Period details like clocks, signage, luggage and metalwork were carefully crafted. Lighting was matched from the original footage, with atmospherics added in for additional richness.

Work was completed in Maya and Redshift.
